 Announcements: Report Cards are available on PowerSchool As a reminder, the stems on the report card have changed for K-6 to reflect the new curriculum. Please see here This week... Humanities: Students will present their Rights in Canada Plays, reflect on their case study, and complete peer and self-assessments. For ELA, students will peer-edit and assess their newspaper articles on Man vs Cougar.  Play Presentations: Due Wed, Feb 1 (research, play plan & script must be submitted) *Casual clothing is permitted for the play day Man vs Cougar Newspaper Article: Due Thurs, Feb 2 French: Students will play games to review present tense "-er" verbs and begin learning vocabulary related to our new unit on "le voisinage" (the neighbourhood). 62 Menu recordings: Due Tues, Jan 31 (J'aime...  Announcements: Report Cards will go live on Power School on January 30 This week... Humanities: Based on their research from last week, students will begin writing their plays on violations of Charter rights. For ELA, students will compare two newspaper articles on the same topic and write their first practice article.  Comparing Newspaper Articles: Due Tues, Jan 24 French: Students will review how to conjugate present tense verbs ending in "-er" and complete their recordings of their menu phrases, "J'aime...Je n'aime pas..." Phys Ed & Wellness: Students will begin the unit on "Healthy Eating" by discussing reasons why different individuals might have different diets (culture, dietary restrictions, food accessibility). In PE, students will finish off the unit on badminton.

 Announcements: Mobile Escape Room - Thurs, Jan 19 - Please pay $18 to the office or online This week... Humanities: For social, we will work on refining research skills and begin a research project on examples of Charter rights violations throughout history. In ELA, we will continue our newspaper article unit by examining the difference between facts and opinions and work to detect bias. Research Skills Slides: Due Wed, Jan 18 French: Students will complete the written portion of their Dream Menu Assignment and work on the speaking portion. Dream Menu (written part): 62 - Due Thurs, Jan. 19 | 65 - Due Wed, Jan. 18 Phys Ed & Wellness: We will conclude our mini-unit on Digital drama with a reflection. For PE, we will continue our badminton unit.

 Announcements: Grade 6 Badminton Tryouts - Jan. 11 until 4:45pm Mobile Escape Room - Jan. 16 or Jan. 19 - Please pay $18 by Fri, Jan. 13 This week... Humanities: In ELA, we will begin our unit on writing newspaper articles. We will start by looking at the parts of a newspaper. In Social, we will wrap up looking at the history of collective rights and begin working on research skills for a project next week. French: We will create our "Dream Menu" using French food and mealtime vocabulary. Phys Ed & Wellness: We will complete our mini-unit on Digital Drama in Health. In Phys Ed, we will begin our unit on Badminton.
