Humanities: After making our first visit to the school library, we will begin reviewing and learning new forms of figurative language, beginning with similes and metaphors. Students will write a poem to demonstrate their understanding. For social studies, after reviewing our geography from last week, we will engage in a group activity to discuss and evaluate various forms of decision-making.

Phys Ed: Everyone should have gym strip and a locker now! We will play some large group games and begin to work on our soccer skills.

French: Students will create a short comic to demonstrate their knowledge of the vocabulary we reviewed last week (greetings, numbers, days of the week, months, seasons).

 Announcements: Telus Spark Field Trip - Tues, Feb. 28 Bring a cold, bagged lunch (no purchasing of food!) If missing form, bring ASAP On Thursday, March 2, Ms. Love will move the role of acting assistant principal. She will assist in the transition as a new teacher takes over.  This week... Humanities: In ELA, we will continue looking at plot diagram and story elements through Greek myths. Students will begin writing an original myth. For Social, students will start to look at the structure of the Athenian government.  Trading Cards: Due Mon, Feb. 27 French: Students will continue building their neighborhoods. Labeling for buildings and jobs will commence. Phys Ed & Wellness: Students will continue the basketball unit. In Health, they will continue working on the nutrition project that was started last week. The goal is to analyze a typical meal to see where small improvements could be made to make it healthier.

Week of March 13-17, 2023

 Announcements: A teacher has been hired for Ms. Love! He will begin March 20 - stay tuned for an introductory email from the school. This week... Humanities: Students will work on completing several assignments they have been working on over the past few weeks. ALL will be due on Thurs, March 16 . Assignments: Greek Myth, Athens: A Day in the Life, Winter/Summer Opinion French: This is the last week for students to build and label their French towns. Next week, there will be a gallery walk to see the other students' work and some listening/speaking activities.  Phys Ed & Wellness: Students will complete their Nutrition Projects and continue to play cooperative games in Phys Ed where the focus will be on sportsmanship.
